Shannon is a devoted volunteer for the Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors (PFAR); serving since 2002 and has chosen to serve on several committees throughout the years. Currently, Shannon is serving on the PFAR Board of Directors as President-Elect and chaired the PFAR ,Mutiple Listing Services (MLS) 2011, Budget and Finance 2009, Local Government Relations (LGR) from 2008-2009 and currently serving as the Chair of the Strategic Plan committee for PFAR. Shannon is an active member of National Association of Realtors (NAR), California Association of Realtors (CAR), and The Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors (PFAR). Furthermore, Shannon has earned designations approved and endorsed through National Association of Realtors (NAR) in Short Sale & Foreclosure Resource (SFR) and Senior Residential Estate Specialist (SRES).
Past involvement includes: PFAR Board Member and appointed Vice President in 2011, Secretary in 2010,Treasurer in 2009, Treasurer in 2007; for the Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors Charitable Foundation (PFARCF); Co-Chairing the PFARCF Wine-Tasting Committee from 2003-2007; served on Board of Directors and Fund-Development committee for Leadership Pasadena; and Board of Directors for The Lady Like Foundation. Also, she was active in supporting her child’s school by serving as the Fund-Raising Chair for the South Pasadena High School Booster Committee from 2002-2007 for the annual Tiger-Run event.
In 2006, Shannon was selected to participate in Leadership Pasadena’s (LP) nine month leadership program. She and 20 professionals participated in a series of educational sessions with the purpose of enhancing their leadership, personal growth, critical-thinking, rapport and team-building skills. Through the LP program she quickly gained knowledge of the goals, history, city government, public education, economic trends and the overall culture of the City of Pasadena. In addition, Shannon served on the Leadership Pasadena’s Environmental Team; her team is responsible for obtaining sponsorships from local businesses and learning institutions to partially fund their project and performed as a liaison to the City of Pasadena Integrated Waste Management Staff and a distributor of Big Belly (a solar powered trash compactor); to implement a six month pilot program. Featuring four units, that debut in the commercial district of Pasadena in July 2007; with the purpose to support the City of Pasadena’s Green City Action Plan. Today, the community utilizes the solar powered trash compactors throughout the Pasadena area. The City of Pasadena has purchase several units as a direct result of the project.
